LOTOJA

We headed up to Logan this weekend with the Bills family and plenty of bikes for Trevor to race in LOTOJA (his first year racing) . Just a little history on the Bills family... They are a family that has lived by Trevor since he was little and has basically adopted him as one of their own, I have considered them my second set of in-laws and just love their family to bits.
The race starts in Logan and then ends in Jackson with a total of 206 miles. We headed up to Logan on Friday night met up with the Bills and other friends had dinner and tried to sleep at least a few hours before we woke at 4:45 to get everyone to the race. They started the race at 6:00 in Logan and headed to their first feed zone in Preston Idaho. Trev, Steve and Cassandra were the riders who were signed up to race the whole 206 miles we also had 5 other people who signed up to do the relay portion of the race each leg of the race is about 30-45 miles. Me and Susie were the support vehile our job was to have water, food energy drinks or bars ready at each feed zone, they would ride in grab what they could in just a few minutes and be on their way again. Unfortunitly Trevor made it to the 80 mile feed zone and had some serious knee problems. The last race he did really did some damage and he was hoping that he could just push past the pain. He had to quickly decide weather he should keep on going and tear his ACL or stop and have a fighting chance at the test for the Park City Firde department in a few weeks. Needless to say he rode along with us from that point and hobbled along to each feed zone to support the rest of the riders. They all did an amazing job and finished the race. If anyone is a rode biker or knows one this race was such a fun thing to experience, it is amazing to see some peoples physical ability to ride such a hard course. We finished our weekend in Jackson Hole and made it just in time to ketch the last of my brother in laws birthday party on Sunday. It was a quick trip but worth the visit this time of year in Jackson is just amazing. Hopefully next year Trevor's knee with be in better shape for him to finish the whole race...

Jackson is so awesome, I miss it! I'm coming to Utah Sept 25th-29th. We should try and do lunch or dinner Sat. 27th. I'm coming for Christmas too so if that weekend doesn't work.

I wish I had known he was riding in it, we woke up Saturday morning to weird noises, and it wasn't until I heard "Three, two, one, GO!" That I remembered LotoJa was happening!

Matt wanted to do that race so bad. But since he is just beginning, that wouldn't be a good idea. That's too bad that Trevor hurt his knee. Matt actually hurt his during that 106 mile ride he did a few weeks ago... it is still bothering him so now we need to go get it checked out. Tell Trevor he did great anyway... 80 miles is still a LONG way!
